Passiamo però ora all'argomento di questo nuovo post. :le ATC, ovvero Artist Trading Cards.
Non è molto che mi sono avvicinata a questo mondo, ma devo ammettere che no sono rimasta subito stregata.
Le ATC in pratica sono delle creazioni "in miniatura" che vengono realizzate seguendo un tema che viene definito di volta in volta.
Vi sono dei vincoli obbligati da rispettare e cioè le dimensioni e cioè 2, 5 " x 3, 5 " (esiste anche le fustella per le ATC ) il fatto che devono essere obbligatoriamente hand made, e possono essere solo scambiate.
And now, the topic of this new post. : the ATC, or Artist Trading Cards. It is not much that I approached this world, but I must admit that I was not immediately bewitched. The ATC in practice are creations of "miniature" that are made following a theme that is defined from time to time.
You are obliged to respect the dimensions 2, 5" x 3, 5 "(there is also a die for the ATC) that must obligatorily , and be hand made, and can only be swapped.
Solitamente vengono "catalogate" con un titolo a fantasia dell'artista , firmate e numerate sul sul retro e realizzate in 2 D (quindi nessun abbellimento troppo spessorato!!).
ATC usually are "cataloged" with a title in the artist's imagination, signed and numbered on the back and made 2 D (so no embellishment too high!).
Generalmente se ne crea una serie di 3 pezzi , simili o anche uguali, per scambiarle ed averne indietro altre 3 .
Naturalmente più ci sono persone che partecipano allo swap , più si ha possibilità di avere ATC di stili e gusti differenti e originali.
Generally it creates a series of 3 pieces, similar or identical, to swap them back and have another 3. Of course there are more people who exchange them, you have more chance of having ATC of styles different and original.
Il bello di realizzare le ATC è che si può utilizzare qualsiasi tipo di materiale: carta. cartoncino. stoffa. sughero, plastica, collage, foto, disegni...insomma l'unico limite imposto è quello dalla nostra fantasia!
Is nice to realize ATC because you can use any kind of media: paper, cloth, cork, plastic, collage, photos, drawings ... so the only limit is imposed by our imagination!
I primi due temi delle mie ATC sono stati : Favole /Fiabe e Fatine .
Per iniziare a prendere dimestichezza con il progetto ho realizzato le mie ATC con dei materiali classici.
Quindi, quelle che avevano tema Favole ,dove io ho scelto la Favola di Biancaneve, le ho realizzate con della carta pesante per acquerello colorata con degli acrilici molto diluiti e decorata con timbrate e fustellate e un a goccia di Glossy Accent.
The themes of my two ATC' swap is: Fairy Tales & Fairies. To familiarize with the swap I realize my ATC with classic media.
The theme Fables where I chose Snow White, I realized with heavy watercolor paper colored with acrylics very diluted and decorated with stamped and die-cut and a drop of Glossy Accent.
Per quelle a tema Fatine invece, ho optato per una tecnica più mixed-media, sovrapponendo strati di gesso a carta, ritagli ed infine timbrate e brillantini.
Devo ammettere che, molto sorprendentemente, le ho realizzate di getto perchè mi sono accorta che creare così in miniatura, da una parte è un pò più impegnativo, ma dall'altra è divertimento allo stato puro !!
For theme Fairies , I opted for a mixed-media technique, overlapping layers of gesso , paper, scraps, and finally I used stamps and glitter. I must admit that, very surprisingly, I realized them with a great enthusiasm because create miniature, is a little more challenging, but is pure fun!
Bene, ora le mie ATC sono oltre confine, in Svizzera a casa di Cosetta con la quale abbiamo iniziato questo divertentissimo scambio artistico.
Nel frattempo mi sono anche iscritta ad un gruppo swap di ATC negli USA, ma sono un pochino frenata dalla distanza.
Se qualcuna di voi è conoscenza di qualche gruppo ATC in Italia (ma anche in Europa andrebbe benissimo) oppure fosse interessata a scambiare con me le proprie ATC , scrivetemi pure, più siamo più lo scambio è divertente !
Ora vi saluto, e vi chiedo scusa se sono un pochino latitante dal mio blog, tra l'altro a breve ci saranno novità che però ora non posso svelare !
Vi posso invece anticipare, che quest ' anno mi sono imposta di realizzare le decorazioni per l'albero di Natale, quindi mi sto muovendo per tempo e sono già in Xmas mood !
Well, now my ATC are across the border into Switzerland at the Cosetta's home with which I started this fun artistic exchange.
In the meantime I also subscribe in a group of ATC swaps in the U.S., but they are a little distance.

I can anticipate you that this year I forced myself to make the decorations for the Christmas tree, so I'm moving on time and are already in Xmas mood!
